When your Kobo have issues, resetting is one of the most common methods to fix the device. But before rebooting your Kobo, you must know there are two types of resetting, one is soft reset, also known as restart; another is factory reset, also known as reboot. Knowing the differences will help you choose the right solution to fix the Kobo device.
Soft Reset (Restart): A soft reset means compulsory restart your Kobo device. Repair manual download 1999 subaru legacy. It's is very easy to perform and will not delete data and books on your Kobo device.
Factory Reset (Reboot): Factory reset means reverts your Kobo device's to its original state. If you perform a factory reset on your eReader, you'll remove all data and informations from your eReader. But books you purchased from Kobo can be re-downloaded from the Kobo Cloud.
Factory reset will even let you lose any bookmarks and annotations you made in your books since you last synced your eReader. Sign out of your account on your eReader. Reset all of your settings and preferences. After a factory reset, you’ll have to set up and sync your eReader again.

Notes: Always remember, soft reset is the first step to fix most of Kobo issues, but if it failed, and there is no other way to solve this issue, try to perform factory reset. And before perform factory reset, please backup your books and documents on Kobo device.
How to Reset Kobo E-Ink reader:
For Kobo Aura H2O, Kobo Glo HD, Kobo Touch 2.0, Kobo eReader, Kobo Wi-Fi, Kobo Touch, Kobo Glo, Kobo Mini, Kobo Aura, Kobo Aura HD.
Soft Reset: If possible, turn off your eReader. Locate the small hole on the bottom of your eReader. Unfold a paperclip and slide an end into the hole.Press gently until you feel a click. Your eReader should restart.
Factory Reset: There are two ways to factory reset Kobo. But before we start, I need to emphasize again that make sure your Kobo is really needed to do factory reset and then backup books and documents on Kobo device.
Method 1: If you can use Kobo right now - Go to Kobo Settings

Find the factory reset option from the setting menu.
Kobo Touch or Glo: Tap Settings > Device Information.
Kobo: Select Menu > Settings > Advanced.
Select either Factory Reset or RESET DEVICE NOW.
Select either Reset Device Now or CONTINUE.
After your device resets, register it by following the on-screen prompts.
Kobo Touch or Glo: Tap Settings > Device Information.

Other eReaders has the simliar steps, just go to Kobo settings and find 'Reset device' option to click. It's not complicated.
Method 2: If you can't use Kobo at the moment- such as locked up, screen frozen.
For Kobo Aura, Kobo Aura HD, or Kobo Glo
1.Ensure that the device is powered off.
2.Press and hold the Light button.
3.Slide the power switch to the right, hold for one second, then let go of the switch.
4.Continue to hold the Light button until the small light to the left of the power switch flashes.
5.Let go of the Light button.

For Kobo Glo HD or Kobo Aura H2O, you can try this method.
1.Turn it off first, press and hold the power button for 5 to 6 seconds;
2.Press and hold the power button;
3.With two fingers, simultaneously and repeatedly tap the bottom corners of the touch screen;
4.Continue to tap the corners repeatedly until the device begins to reset;
5.Complete the device setup after the reset completes.

How to Reset Kobo Tablet
Reset Kobo Vox
Soft Reset: Press and hold the power button for 5-6 seconds. The screen will turn black. Press the power button again to turn Kobo Vox on.
Factory Reset: Before factory reset your Kobo Vox, make sure it have at least 10% battery life, since it will take some time to complete.
Turn off your Kobo Vox by holding the power button (on the top of your Kobo Vox) for 10 seconds. Press and hold the volume up button ( a + sign) on the left-hand side of your Kobo Vox.
While holding the volume up button, press and release the power button on your Kobo Vox.Continue holding the volume up button until you see “Resetting your Kobo eReader” on your Kobo Vox screen. Release the volume up button.
Wait for your Kobo Vox to restart. Manual download of microsoft updates. The Welcome screen will appear after your Kobo Vox restarts. This can take up to one minute.
Reset Kobo Arc 7, Kobo Arc 7HD, Kobo Arc 10HD
Soft Reset: Slide the power button to the right side and hold. After the power options appear, tap power off and then click OK. Wait a few seconds, Kobo Arc will be shut down.Pull the power slider right again for a few seconds and then let go to restart your Kobo Arc.
Factory Reset:

1. Turn the power off and pull the battery out and reinsert it.
2. Hold the Volume Down button.
3. Then press and release the Power button.
4. Wait a minute,the menu appears that allows for Fastbook, Recovery, Clear Storage, and Simlock.
5. Ok,press the Volume Down button to choose Clear Storage.
6. Next,press and release the Power button,Wait for the Kobo Arc to restart.
7. You will see the two options: Volume Up for YES and Volume Down for NO.
8. If you choose YES, all data will be deleted from your Kobo Arc and including third-party applications.
9. The Kobo Arc will reboot to its original data.
